Do not go where the path may lead,
go instead where there is no path
and leave a trail.

My name is Keith Doering and I'm from Christoval, Texas. I've worked for the United States Air Force for the last 29 years (I joined after high school). I completed a 20 year active duty career and transitioned to my second career as a civilian working for the Air Force. Of the 29 years with the Air Force, I've spent 19 years in education and training in positions ranging from Instructor, Instructor Supervisor, Training Developer and Training Evaluator. My current job as a Training Evaluator provides me with an opportunity to go visit graduates (and their supervisors) to obtain feedback on the overall effectiveness (or ineffectiveness) of our courses. This current job and my experiences in the Colorado State University's Adult Education & Training program have shown me that we have to be capable of thinking outside the box when it comes to educating adults. As educators, we have to be willing to stray off the path that our education system continually follows. My goal is to bring change to the way the Air Force approaches educating our enlisted and officers.
This portfolio is a small representation of my commitment towards improving adult education and training through my work in technical training for the United States Air Force. This portfolio contains samples of what I have accomplished and the trail I'm making throughout my graduate degree program at Colorado State University and demonstrates how I’ve applied my new found knowledge and skills to my current job and personal life.
